Информация, собранная страховой компанией ProtectCell, недвусмысленно говорит нам о том, что iPhone намного реже страдают от повреждений экрана и других поломок, чем от краж.

Компания, которая продала более 2 млн страховок, недавно выпустила интересный пресс-релиз, в котором говорится о том, что пользователю iPhone замена устройства по любым причинам понадобится на 54% менее вероятнее, чем пользователю других устройств.

Что касается повреждений экрана или его полной поломки, то они у пользователей iPhone случаются на 11% реже. Это может говорить о том, что iPhone менее подвержен повреждениям или же их пользователи относятся к своим устройствам с большей бережностью. А может быть и то, и то.

Кроме поломки экрана и батареи, попадания жидкости и механических неисправностей, ProtectCell также учитывает «кражу» и «таинственное исчезновение». В этом отношении, iPhone лидируют с завидным преимуществом в 65%.

Apple уже создала неплохой инструмент Activation Lock, который позволяет защитить ваше iOS-устройство с паролем от кражи и перепродажи. Отметим также, что ни Android, ни Windows Phone не имеют подобных механизмов блокировки реактивации, но устройства, использующие эти ОС воруются гораздо реже из-за того, что потенциал их перепродажи намного ниже.

Еще один интересный факт: в 2013 году резко возросло количество запросов на замену планшетов. По сравнению с прошлым годом подобные запросы участились на 90%.

Xbox Live перебирается на iOS и Android

Социальный игровой сервис Xbox Live в скором времени станет кроссплатформенным. Microsoft планирует расширить свою аудиторию с консолей Xbox и Windows устройств до iOS и Android аппаратов.

Если Microsoft сможет расширить поддержку и на купертиновскую мобильную ОС,  Xbox Live станет прямым конкурентом Game Center. Оба сервиса позволяют своим пользователям отслеживать их достижения, добавлять друзей и следить за тем, во что они играют.

Как сообщает The Verge, Microsoft крайне заинтересована в том, чтобы уже в ближайшем будущем охватить не только iOS, но и Android. Ссылаясь на свои источники, агентство утверждает, что функционал Xbox Live будет расширен на iOS и Android игры в попытке завоевать внимание разработчиков игр.

Microsoft надеется, что разработчики, которых ранее отпугнули жесткие требования сертификации, все же взглянут на них по новому. Именно поэтому в Microsoft сейчас активно работают над ослаблением этих ограничений. В последние годы небольшие и независимые компании-разработчики игр успешно освоились на iOS, Android и консолях PlayStation, оставив практически без внимания платформы Microsoft. Естественно подобное положение вещей просто-напросто непозволительно для редмондского гиганта.

Как стало известно из последних отчетов, Microsoft планирует сделать из Xbox Live уникальный сервис, который может использоваться «на любой платформе». При этом Xbox Live будет позиционироваться как альтернативный и более универсальный способ для всех игроков, чтобы отслеживать достижения, связываться с друзьями и, возможно, даже соревноваться в кроссплатформенных проектах.

Напомним, что Apple анонсировал Game Center в далеком 2010 году. Два года спустя сервис расширил свою функциональность и на компьютеры Mac, став при этом действительно универсальным средством для всей экосистемы продуктов Apple.
