Siri получила несколько важных обновлений. Голосовая команда «Hey, Siri» позволяет активировать помощницу без каких-либо прикосновений к телефону. Также появилось распознавание песен с Shazam, покупка треков в iTunes. В iOS 8 появилось 22 новых языков диктовки, среди которых есть и русский. Качество распознавания — достаточно хорошее, поэтому диктовать свои мысли iPhone вы сможете достаточно бегло. А вот русской Siri все еще нет. Может быть, осенью в момент релиза iOS 8, или же позже в iOS 8.1.. Хотя вероятнее всего русская Siri откладывается как минимум до iOS 9.

Возможности для разработчиков
Для разработчиков откроются тысячи новых API, именно поэтому расширяемость — главная особенность релиза iOS 8. C ее помощью пользователи смогут делиться информацией друг с другом и с центром уведомлений, фильтры от сторонних приложений могут быть использованы внутри приложений Фото, в Safari может использоваться переводчик Bing.

Благодаря этому же в центр уведомлений можно будет устанавливать виджеты, которые будут работать также как и стандартные виждеты Apple: Календарь, Акции и др.

Touch ID
Наконец-то разработчикам открывают доступ к Touch ID. По заверениям разработчиков, отпечатки пальцев будут храниться отдельно, но авторизация автоматически разблокирует пароли, хранимые в Связке ключей (Keychain), для того чтобы предоставить доступ к приложениям.

Семейный доступ
Функция позволит делиться фотографиями, календарными событиями, напоминаниями и многим другим между членами одной семьи (до 6 человек). Семейный доступ также позволит использовать единую кредитную карту . При включенном режиме «семейного доступа», когда ребенок попытается приобрести приложение, взрослый получит уведомление, в котором он сможет разрешить или отказать в покупке.

iOS 8 будет поддерживаться на iPhone 4s и выше, iPad 2 и выше, а также на 5-ом поколении iPod touch. Для разработчиков бета iOS 8 уже доступна, публичный релиз ожидается осенью.

Промокоды на покупки внутри приложений

На днях случилось долгожданное для всех iOS-разработчиков событие. Apple таки стала позволять некоторым девелоперам раздавать промокоды на внутриигровые покупки фримиум-игр. Напомним, ранее пользователи iOS приложений могли воспользоваться промо-кодами только в случае покупок платных программ.

Промо-коды для изначальной загрузки платных приложений доступны уже давно. Если вам интересно, что это такое и как их использовать, можете ознакомиться с нашей небольшой инструкцией. По-видимому, теперь картина должна измениться, и разработчикам будет намного легче предоставлять доступ к полному контенту своих фримиум-игр тестерам, обзорщикам и другим пользователям.

Хотя до сих пор остается неизвестно, по каким критериям выбираются разработчики, которым предоставляют доступ к данной функции. Впервые о такой возможности сообщил в своем Twitter Джефф Скотт из 148apps.com, похваставшись тем, что ему удалось активировать промод на покупку «Горсти золота» внутри Real Racing 3.

Кстати говоря, если пользователь введет промод на покупку внутри приложения, которого у него еще нет на устройстве, ему тут же предложат загрузить и саму игру.

Сама же Apple еще не обновила соответствующие разделы на сайте разработчиков. Там правила до сих пор гласят: «Промокоды не работают для покупок внутри приложений, также это касается и Киоска».

Office для iPad загрузило более 27 млн человек

На конференции TechEd редмондский гигант заявил, что Microsoft Office для iPad, в состав в который входят Word, PowerPoint и Excel, разошелся тиражом в уже более 27 миллионов. Данные были впервые опубликованы в твитере Пола Туро.

Немалая цифра в 27 миллионов — это постоянно растущее число скачек приложения, которое уже более чем в два раза превысило 12-миллионную отметку загрузок на первой неделе. Конечно же, все эти цифры всего лишь бесплатные скачивания приложений. Microsoft не будет делиться данными о том, как ~~мало~~ много из них имеют подписку на iPad Office.

C момента запуска в конце марта этого года Микрософт не покладает рук над новым функционалом своего офисного решения для iPad. Так, например, в конце прошлого года была добавлена поддержка AirPrint и некоторые улучшения Excel. Глава Apple Тим Кук поприветствовал дебют Office в App Store и на iPad. Еще бы, 30% от каждой недешевой подписки Office 365 будут капать купертиновской компании.
