Причины столь высокого распространения iPod очевидны: Apple создала целую линейку портативных музыкальных плееров из четырех гаджетов, каждый из которых ориентирован на конкретного потребителя. И если покупатель по каким-либо причинам не может позволить себе iPod touch за 10 тысяч рублей, то у него есть возможность остановить выбор на iPod shuffle за две тысячи рублей. Разумеется, назвать shuffle полноценной заменой touch никак нельзя, но рассмотреть такой вариант в качестве альтернативны вполне можно.
Рост продаж iPod замедлился еще во втором квартале этого года, и в октябре ситуация была ничуть не лучше. Если осенью прошлого года Apple реализовала 6,75 миллиона плееров, которые помогли ей заработать более одного миллиарда долларов, то в этот раз корпорация смогла продать лишь 3,5 миллиона iPod на 573 миллиона долларов.
Примечательно, что Apple, похоже, не сильно волнует спад продаж iPod, и приведенные выше исследования лишь укрепляют ее позицию. Этой осенью корпорация не стала обновлять ни один из своих плееров, сконцентрировав все внимание своих покупателей на новых iPhone и iPad.
